Major changes to this hole have seen tea-tree and other heavy vegetation on the right hand side removed and replaced by a very large "sandy waste" area. The golfer is challenged on the tee to take on as much of the waste area as they dare to be rewarded with the best angle to approach the green. Playing left and safe off the tee is an option but means having to approach the green over the green-side trap.
